Dunlop Volley

In 1998 Australia's best selling sports shoe, the Dunlop Volley was relaunched with all the features that Australians have always loved about their favourite volleys.

The birth of the Dunlop Volley dates back to 1939 and was inspired by Australian tennis legend Adrian Quist. Before long the Dunlop Volley was in production and the herringbone soled shoe, retailing at just 25 shillings (approximately $2.50) became an instant best seller.

The Dunlop Volley caused a sensation in tennis circles with its innovative design. Now more than 60 years later, 20 million pairs of Dunlop Volleys have been sold, making it Australia's biggest selling sports shoe.

The Dunlop Volley International, features the comfort of a slim fitting shoe with fantastic grip and support.

But the Volley doesn’t just stop at sporting excellence, the Dunlop Volley has been renowned in the building industry and in particular the roofing industry for its superior grip and durability on the building site, with its unique herringbone sole providing excellent grip on both tiled and tin rooves.

So the next time you are looking for a highly comfortable, very versatile and quite fashionable shoe, why not check out the Dunlop volley, available at BIG W today.

Note added by Author: you can also buy steel-capped Volleys now! A concession to the Safety Codes I imagine: roofing contractors won't wear anything else, but the powers-that-be insist you aren't safe without steel toe caps. What happens if you drop a rafter across the upper bit of the shoe, I wonder? isn't compromise wonderful?
