The Clarence Valley is a great place for bike rides. We have many quiet country lanes, where you can cycle through beautiful rural scenery, with little motor vehicle traffic to worry you. Even better, most of these scenic country lanes are fairly flat. You can ride for many kilometres without having to climb any steep hills. If fact most of the hills encountered are fairly gentle.

We try to cycle to or from one of the various nice pubs in the area, where we can top off a great ride by having lunch there, before heading home. The bike rides vary from short ones of 20 kilometres, to the longest being about 60 km, with the average length of bike ride being around 40 kilometres, which usually takes between 3 and 4 hours to complete.

Some of the great rides we have done have been around Woodford Island. Or Ulmarra to Tucabia and return, or Ulmarra to Clarenza and return. Grafton to Junction Hill, then to Carrs Peninsula and back to Grafton. Grafton to Ulmarra via Junction Hill, and back to Grafton via Strontian Park. And finally South Grafton to Coutts Crossing via Rushforth Road and return.

Requirements for a bike ride are fairly simple, you will need a decent bike (mountain or full size racing style), a helmet (compulsory), high visibility clothing (recommended), gloves (recommended), and a sense of adventure. The pace is fairly leisurely, and will suite people of most ages

Once you get a taste of these bike rides you will be eager for more - not to be missed!
