    SUN 20 JUN OPPOSITE BOXVALE LOOKOUT
    Lake Alexandra to Beasley’s lookout then follow fire trail until opposite Boxvale LO. Steep; off-track exploratory down to Nattai River. Up incline and head to 40ft Falls. Multiple creek crossings, 18km, 780m ascent.

    SUN 27 JUN NAVSHIELD WEEKEND
    The 2021 Navshield course is in the Tarlo River NP.  Entries closed early because of the 500 participant limit.

    SAT 03 JUL to MON 05 JUL
    Little Horseshoe Bend
    Overnight hike in Morton NP.
    Start Matodora Ridge, Monitor Mount, Little Horseshoe Bend, camp on the river. Day trip up Tim’s Gully to Sparkes Falls. Return via Panning Hill. Steep decent and river crossings. Hard 11km plus day trip. Map: Touga.

    SUN 04 JUL Mt ALEXANDRA CIRCUIT
    Lake Alexandra to 60ft Falls via Leopold St. Follow Nattai River to meet Gibbergunyah Creek. Steep climb up eroded log steps to service trail for return to lake. Multiple creek crossings. Approx. 8km.

    SUN 11 JUL SHARP PEAK Buxton
    The Horse Track, Blue Gum Creek to Little River ford. Steep off track scramble to Sharp Peak. Attempt to reach Denture LO. Return along Buxton Plateau. Difficult and long, approx. 20km. Very fit club members only.

    From Wattle Ridge to spectacular lookout over Rocky Waterholes Ck via detour to interesting rock features (dome, castle and rock tables). Some steep sections. 15km.

    Park at Gambells Rest. Take Riverview Rd to Amphitheatre LO then Nicholas Pass to base of Fairy Bower Falls. Steep climb to top of falls then Fairy Bower Loop Track back to Gambells Rest. Approx. 7km.

    SAT 18 SEP to SUN 19 SEP Rixon’s Mine,
    Upper Clyde River Overnight hike in Budawang Wilderness Area. Start at Sassafras entrance, follow Endrick River Trail for 6km then head off-track down an interesting pass to Clyde River and camp. Explore old mines and a waterfall. Return the same way. Hard 16km. Map: Tianjara.

    Easy walk on track next to rail line. Rural scenes with views across Burrawang to Kangaloon. Walk ends overlooking Wingecarribee Reservoir.

    ABOUT
    This Aboriginal Walkabout has 2 main learning outcomes. The first is our pre-colonial history and how we lived before colonization. The second is how to practice the old ways in the modern day. To gain great health and healing of; mind, body and spirit. To improve the quality of our lives and that of all other life. I give each person an information sheet at the end that summarizes the learning out comes and gives them online access to further knowledge.
    THE EXPERIENCE
    Education of traditional Aboriginal culture in nature on an adventure bushwalk. Includes: walking a songline, 3 sacred sites that are OK for men and women (A beautiful gigantic dry Cave where we have lunch and a wonderful rock engraving site of dreamtime stories and animals), Darug (local language group) history, ancient wisdom and how to apply it to our modern world, smoking ceremony and connecting to the Dreaming a simple and safe ritual to feel good energy in the body to increase awareness, concentration ,creativity and to prevent: stress and negativity, dreamtime stories, ochre bark and body painting, at least 2 bush tucker tasting and experiencing 3 bush medicines.
    WHERE?
    Walk starts and finishes in the Blue Mountains on Faulconbridge Railway Station platform. Meeting there at 10.50 am ending there at approx. 4.05 pm.
    HOW? BY CAR
     
    Turn off Great Western Highway opposite Faulconbridge Station into Railway Ave for free parking area. Walk across pedestrian bridge to Station.
    WHAT TO BRING
     
    • day pack • lunch • water, at least 1.5 litres (60 ounces) summer and 1 litre (40 ounces) winter • rain jacket • swimmers optional (paddling, no actual swimming) • small foam mat to sit on • warm vest (winter) • sun block & hat • camera • personal medications • toilet tissue • rubbish bag Bring only the minimum you need for the day (no lockers available) Wear shoes with good grip & clothes you don’t mind getting dirty (shorts and t-shirt Oct to May)
    CONDITIONS
    Experiential education of our traditional culture including sacred sites on an off track bushwalk in the Blue Mts. It is not a tour of the Blue Mts and therefore, we do not visit tourist places or lookouts. Starts and finishes on Faulconbridge Train Station Platform. 5 to 70 yrs, of good health and average or above; fitness, balance and mobility Nature (bushwalking 2 rainforest gullies with a gradual down and up of 120m) 3.5 km (2 mile) loop with first half off proper walking trail. Medium: grade, gradient and adventure. Some rock negotiating, occasional slippery bit and >1 hr from medical support No refund or bad weather cancellation (cave fire on rare cold or wet day)
